What about old lads fighting for SS?

Today is 16th of March, the day few Latvian people celebrate as commemoration day to honour their fellows who died during the IIWW.

Many say that these people are fascists as they were serving within SS divisions and should not be allowed to honour anything. On the other hand, Latvian men were forced to wear SS uniforms, still they were fighting for free Latvia, and free Latvia only!! And even if they were SS soldiers, would that change the fact that many of their friends were shot on the battle field? Who cares about what is one fighting for? I hardly doubt that during IIWW many people were fighting for anything more than just the freedom of their nations, friends and families!

It is further disgrace that several organizations (both nationalistic and anti-Latvian) use this day for political games…
